What are you
looking for in the seminary from
which you want to obtain ministry
education?
Do you seek more
than book knowledge and theory? Do
you look for faculty who will be not
only mentors but friends? Do you want
hands-on involvement in leadership
and discipleship even as you study?
You will find all this at IGSL.
IGSL is a different
kind of seminary. Ask our current students
and alumni. They will tell you of the
life-changing experience that you will
have at IGSL. They will tell you of
ISGs and internships, prayer times
and papers, research and retreats,
discipleship and days with the Lord.
They will tell you of the multicultural
family to which you will belong when
you become an IGSL student.
We invite you to
immerse yourself in this experience.

1. Pre-Admission
Background
There is no single
undergraduate major that best prepares
students for a graduate education in
theology. Abroad program that includes
work in the major fields of the humanities
and the sciences is excellent preparation.
Applicants would
especially benefit from studies in
the following: Greek, Hebrew, and modern
languages; literature and composition;
speech, journalism, and other areas
of communications; ancient and modern
history; philosophy; and the social
sciences.
Students will profit
from a sound knowledge of the Bible,
although formal religion classes are
not a prerequisite to entrance. Active
participation in a ministry of evangelism,
discipleship, and Bible teaching and
local church involvement is required
as a background for seminary training.
Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking
English is important for graduate level
studies.
2. Admission
Requirements
The
academic requirement for admission
to one of the master's programs is
a Bachelor of Arts degree or its equivalent
with a 2.5 grade point average or better
(on a 1-4 scale, 4.0 high). Exceptions
are weighed carefully.
All applicants are
required to pass the English proficiency
test (please see Table 1 for passing
scores) administered by IGSL unless
they have passed either the TOEFL exam
(please see Table 2 for passing scores);
or the IELTS exam
(please see Table 3 for passing scores).

Because IGSL
desires to build biblical thinkers
for dynamic spiritual leadership,
applicants are approved on the basis
of academic ability, spiritual character
and leadership potential. Because
of the physical and time demands
students will face while studying
at IGSL, each applicant must also
pass a physical examination and,
if married, show that his or her
spouse agrees with the applicant's
plans for further training.
Final admission is
also based on the demonstrated ability
of applicants to support themselves
financially during the pursuit of their
entire course of study. Because of
the intensity of IGSL training, full-time
students are strongly discouraged from
pursuing secular employment while maintaining
a full load at IGSL.
