Q: Can
I bring my family with me?
A:
Married international students are required
to bring their spouses and children with
them. Filipino students from the provinces
must also bring their families with them.
They may stay in our student housing
facilities.
Q:
How about my child(ren's) schooling?
Do you have a daycare center?
A:
We currently have a cooperative school
(home schooling curriculum) called Achievers
International School that caters to our
international students’ kids from
3 years old and up. IGSL’s cooperative
school costs $360 per child per school
year. Only children living in IGSL dormitories
may attend this school. Prices at other
schools vary greatly, from free public
schools to $1,200/year for high quality
private schools. There are additional costs
for books and uniforms at private schools,
as well as transportation for any school
outside the IGSL campus.
Q: Do
you have medical insurance?
A:
No, currently we do not have medical
insurance for our students but we have
the Group Medical Assistance Fund (GMAF).
The GMAF was established to help defray
major medical expenses incurred by full-time
degree students. Each student needs to
apply for coverage every term @ PhP200/person/term.
While this is optional for Filipinos,
international students and their families
are required to join. For medical assistance
coverage policies and procedures, please
inquire from the Admin office. Internationals
are highly encouraged to get medical
insurance prior to their arrival in Manila.
Q: Do
you a school clinic?
A:
Yes, we have a school clinic managed
by our school nurse. Vitamins and medicine
for common illnesses are available for
free (special in-kind donations). However,
if you are from South Asia and are currently
on medication, we advise you to bring
your own medicine as they are much cheaper
there.
