Q: Do
you have an on-campus housing facility?
A:
The Lighthouse is a four-story building
recently built to provide convenient,
affordable accommodations for IGSL students
in an environment designed to enhance
relationships. This on-campus facility
offers 22 furnished apartment units to
house 70 people. Each unit contains a
living room, bedroom(s), kitchen, and
bathroom.
Our
second dormitory, the Bright House, was
dedicated to the Lord last September
28, 2003. It is a three-story 1800 sq.
m. building providing 43 housing units
for student, staff and faculty families.
Application for residency is open to
all full-time degree students.
We also have a singles dormitory for men at the Asian Leadership Center (ALC).
Our newest facility was dedicated to the Lord on February 2, 2007.
Those
seeking accommodation in our housing
facilities may apply with the Student
Housing Coordinator.
Please
note that we follow a priority list when
providing housing accommodations to our
students and guests.

much does one room cost?
A: Depends on the size of the
apartment.

Q: How
do I apply for on-campus student housing?
A: Applicants
may apply for housing by filling up a Housing
Application form and enclosing it in his
Application for Admission form. Current
students may apply with the Housing Coordinator
at the Admin Office.
The Admissions
Office will fill up the forms of new international
and provincial students during their initial
application.
Q: What
is included in each housing unit?
A: Our on-campus
housing units are fully furnished. A typical
two-bedroom apartment has a central kitchen
and living area with dining table, chairs,
stove, refrigerator, sink and cabinets.
Two small bedrooms -- one with a double
bed (for a married couple) and one with
a bunk bed or single bed for children.
Bedrooms also have cabinets for clothes
and books, and small computer desk and
chairs. Bathroom has toilet, sink, and
shower. You will need to provide your own
dishes, cooking utensils, blankets, bed
sheets and pillows. All rooms have electric
ceiling fans. There is also a study room
in the outside hallway on each floor if
students prefer to not study in their apartment.
A laundry
area, with 5 washing machines, is provided
for Bright House and Lighthouse residents.
Some plates
and utensils are available at our 3:11
closet (small “store” in the
IGSL community where you can give and get
surplus items for free, see Luke 3:11),
but supplies will only be made available
as donations come in.
Note: Tap
water or water coming from the faucet is
not potable (safe to drink). You may purchase
purified/mineral water from water refilling
stations at P40 to P50 per container.
Q: Are
students required to stay on-campus?
A: International
students are required to stay on campus.
Filipinos are not required to stay on campus.
Q: Do
we have to cook our own food?
A: IGSL
has its own canteen that serves breakfast,
merienda (snacks), and lunch at reasonable
prices from Monday to Friday, 7 am to 4
pm. If you will be staying in the school
dormitories, you can also cook your own
food in your apartment.
Q:
Can we access the internet from our apartments?Can
I use my laptop computer in my apartment?
A: Yes.
Rooms have broadband internet connection
for Php300 per month. Please contact our
Computer Services personnel to avail of
this service. Electrical current is 220
volts, 60Hz. Two-pin flat blade attachments
and two-pin round plugs are used. However,
most adaptors are readily available here.
